Ski School for kids-Niseko

My son went to a ski school for the first time this March and had a really good time there. Niseko Base Snowsport. Staff speak fluent English and very patient, my son obviously enjoyed it as he still talks about going to Japan and do more skiing at the age of 3 1/2 . Of course, everyone progress differently, but at the end of a 5 days lesson. My son could ski down slowly with me and my hubby on the green run at the lower part of the mountian.:)

Ryann 正向着好的方向發展
如果係ski school, 好難咁早book教練.
佢地每年都從不同地方recruit教練.
而D教練通常只會做一季, 下季又會係另一批.

What Ryann said was correct. The ski school usually have different instructor every year as they don't tend to stay in one resort.

Anyway, the reason for me to recommend UBS is they are very kids friendly. The instructor would even read the kids story while they are in-door waiting around to entertain them. No doubt about the language, as English is the best you can get as I don't think there is any Cantonese speaking ski school anywhere else.

Thank you Ryann and happy-mum. I understand that many instructors will not stay in one place/resort every year, I just wish to have someone who can really communicate with the kids. You know, a good skier may not be a good teacher. Those communicates better will benefits more the student.

:)Thanks for your recommendation, I'll try UBS.

Happy mum,
1. Want to know how many hours for the class each day?
2. Is that all skiing time in the class?
3. the cost of lesson
4. the age of child they accepted

We booked a 5 days of half day lesson from around 9:30am to 12:30pm from HK for about Y30000. Then we upgraded 2 days into a full days lesson and paid up the different of around Y5500 per day. When you do a full day lesson, lunch is included.

The minimum age is 3 years old for NBS. And my son was 3 1/2 years old at the time we went.:)

Btw, the kids don't stay out in the cold for all the lesson time. I know that they do go indoor to warm up then go out again.

Glad to hear that your son enjoyed it. What's important is he likes it.

Another choice is Club Med in Sohoro. My sons like the place and the lessons there. So you have one more option next time when visiting Hokkaido.

Seems flexible and reasonable price. :)

My elder daughter joined kids school in Whistler at age of 4 but full day programme seems too long for her. This year, she is 5 years old and had joined a few lessons in slope 8 before the trip. She skiied with us for 9 days in Whistler and after a few suffering days (she always threw temper and bumped into me when trying to stop), she was able to go up to the peak with us and ski down from intermediate slope with her A wedge.

This year, we' ve planning a trip to Japan. I'm still thinking shall I bring with the younger daughter (she would be 3 in November but her character is shy and cool).:p

We went to Niseko last Xmas. My son, aged 7, joined 3 full day lessons at Niseko international snowsports school. It's really an international school. Most of the instructors from Australia and Canada, -- all native speakers. :) He learnt skiing and English together.

http://www.harmonyresorts.com/lessonsandprograms.cfm.

He enjoyed the lessons very much partly due to the magic carpet that moved him up and partly due to the complimentary milo drink every morning. He was able to take the charlift on the second day.

He loves skiing very much. We have already redeemed tickets to Sapporo next CNY.

*** PCCW bought Hanazono. No wonder we saw Richard Li at the ski school. He was carrying a snowboard and talking to an instructor. Snowboarded to check business !?:).***

My son had lessons at slope 8 before the trip, thanks to Wallace for the arrangement !

Ski School for kids-Niseko

我計劃年底聖誕節帶7嵗的女兒去北海道的札幌(Sapporo)滑雪,朋友推薦ski in Niseko Village, stayed at Niseko Hilton Hotel。

Niseko international snowsports school is right below the Kogen hotel, very convenient. My boy went there for a few times. They have a magic carpet, good for 1st time skier. also very close to the chairlift.

I booked through (sorry the old link does not work)
